Designed in India : Recognizing India’s Emerging Design Talent in Architectural Hardware

India's design industry is booming, and with the government’s push for "Make in India" and "Made in India," it's time to embrace the next evolution: "Designed in India." As the country establishes itself as a global hub for innovation and manufacturing, Indian designers across various industries are making their mark. Among them is Nikunj Vakani, Head of Product Design at Quba Group, who has been instrumental in shaping the future of architectural hardware products.
Vakani’s extensive experience in the industry, particularly in architectural products and hardware solutions, has led him to design over 100 successful door handles for top brands like Godrej, Quba, Archis, and more. His contributions extend beyond just door handles—collaborating with renowned companies such as Tata Steel, Milton, Carysil, Sternhagen, Grohe, and Grass Fittings.
Recently recognized with the prestigious India's Best Design Project award for his work in door handle design, Vakani's journey exemplifies the excellence that Indian designers bring to the table. As India rises in the global design landscape, it’s important to celebrate these local talents who are redefining the standards of quality and innovation. Let’s take pride in the fact that the products shaping our homes and buildings are not only made in India but also brilliantly designed by Indian talent.
